The purpose of this position is to provide custodial and minor building complex repairs as well as care of nearby campus grounds in a clean, safe, and aesthetic manner. All duties and responsibilities are completed according to established protocol.
Shift: 3 p.m. to midnight

1. Custodial – Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Strip, polish, and wax floors within a building complex according to established schedule. Clean windows. Gather and empty trash. Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
2. Maintenance – Perform minor repairs and upkeep as needed such as painting and hardware repair; change light bulbs.
3. Supervision – Provide supervision to student workers. Serve as lead worker to a small crew of Custodian I employees.
4. Outside duties – maintain the immediate outside area of a building complex in a clean, safe, and aesthetically appealing manner. Duties include pulling weeds, watering, fertilizing grass and plants, pick up litter, and empty cigarette urns. Report any unsafe conditions such as broken benches. Provide snow removal outside immediate building as needed to provide safe entry and exit.
5. Security – Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors and windows, turning out lights, checking for and reporting maintenance problems, and reporting hazardous situations, and obtaining assistance for distressed people.
6. Interact with campus community and general public – performs project work with teams of various sizes, work with other Facilities Services Departments, communicate with academic departments, aid and direct building users.

Required Qualifications
1. Considerable knowledge of standard methods for scrubbing, disinfecting, mopping, dusting, polishing, and related tasks.

3. Working knowledge of use of specialized techniques and procedures for deep cleaning and major refurbishing.
4. Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
5. Ability and skill in the operation of simple hand tools (squeegees, brooms, mops, dustwands, and brushes), and in the operation of power cleaning equipment (regular high-speed buffers and burnishers, wet/dry vacs, shampooers, steam extraction equipment, exterior window washing equipment, and power brooms.)
6. Skill in mixing compounds according to instructions for special projects.
7. Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
8. Ability to perform minor maintenance work and painting.

Title IX Coordinator
The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX.
