Senior Accountant - Hybrid Job at Hospital Support Center
Lifepoint Health has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant - Hybrid. The Senior Accountant will serve an integral part of the accounting team responsible for providing support to the Hospital Support Center (HSC) Accounting Department, maintain complete control over the general ledger ac-counting, and assist with monthly closings and account analysis to carry out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Essential Functions:
- Prepare monthly HSC and Intercompany accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Create, maintain, and reconcile insurance allocations in various prepaid accounts, includes the amortization schedule and all insurance journal entries.
- Prepare and reconcile a variety of expense allocations managed by HSC Accounting and reported on facility financials.
- Make recommendations and assist with presentations on financial actions to senior management by analyzing accounting options and assisting with budgets.
- Perform data pulls to assist business needs in various accounting software and platforms (including but not limited to HOST, Business Objects, SAP and etc.).
- Create monthly financial reporting, including budget variance report.
- Summarizes current financial status by collection information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.
- Assist in month-end and year-end operations and reporting to remain in regulatory compliance.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Maintains accounting controls by following Company standardized policies and procedures.
- Provide support, reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis as needed to support annual external and other carve out audits.
- Participate in regular trainings as needed.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

- Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and state regulatory environments as needed.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 4 years of related experience.
Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
