The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Department of Human Services (DHS) merged on July 1, 2022 to form one agency, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). We are seeking a Secretary 1 to join the team at the Glenwood Resource Center (GRC) in Glenwood, which offers a continuum of care to Iowans experiencing intellectual disabilities. This is a full-time position with a Monday – Friday work schedule. Employees are eligible for a $1,500 retention payment for a commitment of 7 pay periods (14 weeks) and are eligible for renewal at the end of each 7 pay periods until the facility closes. This position provides administrative support to the Medical Director and Medical Dept at GRC. Some job duties include:
Attend and record minutes for all assigned meetings
Schedule medical and interdepartmental meetings as requested
Manage daily scheduling software for medical staff
Keep accurate timekeeping records for medical staff
Schedule, prepare, and distribute clinical information packets for weekly case reviews with University of Iowa physicians
Prepare MOD schedule draft for Medical Director review, and update schedule with interval changes as requested
Prepare (in standard format) and archive annual physical reports
Prepare and submit ISP reports for medical providers
Verify accuracy of invoices for employee contracts and print for Medical Director approval
Prepare quarterly physician orders for provider signature
Prepare policy training materials for Medical Director to complete training with medical staff
Manage outgoing and sort incoming interdepartmental and clinical mail
Prepare correspondence for Medical Director as requested
Coordinate process for Medical Director to complete employee performance evaluations
Coordinate process for professional peer review
Manage conference room schedule
Coordinate scheduling of inservice/training for medical staff as requested
Assist Medical Director with hiring process for new medical staff as requested (i.e., scheduling interviews, preparing interview materials, completing reference and background checks, etc.)
Manage other diversified activities and projects as directed
