- Research and provide staff support that will enhance teaching and learning, including teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, interpretation and use of assessment results.
- Research, provide information and model a range of effective and innovative math practices through various activities such as: discussions (informal and formal), coaching sessions, demonstration lessons with pre-and post- discussion/analysis, study groups, department meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Observe instructional delivery and provide feedback to enhance and support the development of each math teacher’s content area.
- Assist teachers in building an interactive classroom and assure that recommendations for improvement are implemented.
- Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students.
- Assist teachers in the classroom implementation of mathematical practices aligned to state and local standards.
- Analyze data in order to modify curriculum, instruction and forms of assessment to meet students’ needs.
- Collaborate with instructional staff and administrators on a variety of topics including curriculum, learning/instruction, data and classroom culture/management.
- Help teachers develop department-wide and classroom interventions plans.
- Supporting math teachers, both new and experienced, in the implementation of established curriculum.
- Develop and present professional development opportunities for teachers as well as attend professional development opportunities in the areas of coaching, math instruction, etc.
- Mentor and develop new math teachers.
- Missouri Certification - Mathematics
- Master's Degree
- Experience Teaching Secondary Mathematics
- Dependent on level of education and years of teaching experience.
- Nineteen years of previous teaching experience will be accepted toward placement on salary schedule.
