We are looking for our next Scientist to join our Delivery Material Technology group, at our Union Beach, NJ location.
As a Scientist, you will help fulfill the strategic mission of the Delivery Material Technology group which is to drive consumer preference in our customer’s products. You will be part of a close knit team conducting cutting edge research in the areas of encapsulation and delivery for various active ingredients supporting continued business growth at IFF.
This position is for an entry level scientist with basic skills and an interest in bench-level technical work. The individual will be required to develop a basic understanding of delivery and encapsulation technologies needed to support group programs.
Job Requirements
Primary activities include execution of technical work under direct supervision of more senior technical staff, which includes:
- Preparation of samples or prototypes in a laboratory or pilot setting
- Incorporation of samples/prototypes into finished products
- Evaluation of samples/prototypes as-is and in finished products
- Preparation of samples/prototypes for product stability testing
- Completion of basic analytical testing (i.e. water activity; droplet size measurements)
- Sample preparation for advanced analytical testing
- Data organization and reporting of results in a timely
Essential:
- BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or other related field
- Experience working in a laboratory setting
- Ability to set up experimental apparatus and follow procedures
- Strong organizational, record keeping & time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel)
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience with delivery and or encapsulation technologies or polymer science
- Familiarity with analytical and/or sensory methodologies
