Position Summary:
Sanitation personnel are responsible for cleaning the processing rooms after use each day and other tasks as assigned by the Department Head. This position is self-directed and will generally follow a checklist to complete the needed tasks.
Essential Functions and Related Responsibilities:
· Cleaning and sanitizing of the processing areas after use each day including floors, walls, ceilings, equipment and vessels.
· Disassembly and assembly of processing equipment as necessary to clean and sanitize equipment.
· Cleaning and sanitizing other common areas of the plant as assigned including processing, ovens, packaging, warehouse, breakrooms, and bathrooms, and exterior areas.
· Responsible for properly and safely using and storing sanitation chemicals and maintaining inventory.
· Cleaning of other common areas as assigned including packaging areas, warehouse areas, oven areas, processing areas, breakrooms, and bathrooms.
· Serve as a backup to Janitorial personnel as needed to cover vacations and absences.
· Maintain audit readiness for SQF, Regulatory agencies, and other third-party audits by ensuring all applicable documentation is complete and accurate.
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; maintaining clean/sanitary work areas; complying with legal regulations.
· Update job knowledge by participating in internal and external educational opportunities.
· Additional tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
· High School degree or equivalent.
· Fluent in English; good verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to maintain close attention to detail.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
· Ability to professionally interact with co-workers, management, and outside-visitors.
· Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Similar work experience and/or education.
· Prior experience with and knowledge of SQF, HACCP, SSOPs, GMP’s, and COP/CIP system.
· Basic mechanical skills.
