Bell Ringers Wanted

The Salvation Army in Portland, Maine is seeking highly motivated individuals to ring bells for our largest annual fundraiser. Locations are in Portland, South Portland, Westbrook, Scarborough, Falmouth, Cape Elizabeth, and Windham.

We are accepting applications for full and part-time seasonal bell-ringers. Job starts mid November 2022 and goes through December 24, 2022. No Sundays

Please apply at our office located at 297 Cumberland Avenue, Portland, Maine; Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 3:00.

Summary:

The Bell Ringer will assist The Salvation Army with their Kettle Campaign, which helps fulfill the needs of those in need. The Bell Ringer must be friendly and have a positive attitude which is vital to the success of the Kettle Campaign. Workers must dress for cold weather! This is predominately an outdoor job.

Job Duties:

· Ringing a bell for The Salvation Army to collect donations.

· Smile and greet customers entering and exiting location in a courteous and friendly manner.

· Ensure the “kettle” is never left unattended.

Job Requirements of Qualified Candidates –

Must Be:

· Trustworthy and Dependable

· Able to work independently, with limited supervision.

· Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction.

· Must be outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic about raising donations.

Must Have:

· Ability to conduct job duties in accordance with the ministry of The Salvation Army and its Christian principles.

· Ability to work flexible hours/shifts.

· Great people skills and retail and customer service experience a plus.

· Dependable transportation and phone.

· Neat appearance, proper attire is layered clothing for warmth.

· Ability to stand for extended periods in outside weather conditions.

· Willing to submit to a background check.

Pay: $15.00/hr
