The Western Golf Association, headquartered in Glenview, Illinois, was founded in 1899 by 11 Chicago-area golf clubs. The WGA conducts two professional championships, the NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank (Korn Ferry Tour) and BMW Championship (PGA TOUR), each benefitting the Evans Scholars Foundation. Evans Scholars Foundation

The WGA champions education through golf by sponsoring the Evans Scholars Program, the sole charitable beneficiary of the BMW Championship and Evans Scholars Invitational. Established by famed amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans, Jr., the program provides full housing and tuition scholarships to deserving caddies across the country. Currently, 1,070 caddies are attending college on scholarship; there are 11,556 Evans Alumni.

NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank

The NV5 Invitational is a fifth-year event on the Korn Ferry Tour, hosted at The Glen Club, July 24-30, 2023. First hosted in 2019, the first four champions of the NV5 Invitational have graduated to the PGA TOUR.

Description:

The Sales Associate will directly contribute to the sales efforts of the NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank, a Korn Ferry Tour event, by generating hospitality and ticket sales. Ideal candidates will be individuals with a sales focused career path who are relentless in their pursuit of revenue generation.

Responsibilities:

· Achieve revenue goals

· Call, visit, or write to organizations to sell portfolio of NV5 Invitational assets including hospitality packages, Pro-Am playing positions and tickets

· Develop a robust pipeline with probability of closing to ensure volume necessary to attain individual and tournament revenue goals

· Constantly engage in heavy volume of outbound communications to potential prospects

· Utilize CRM tools to track, measure and analyze sales activity

· Outreach to potential prospects

· Submit weekly sales reports to the Tournament Director

· Work collaboratively with client services, operations and ticketing department to ensure fulfillment

· Use networking software to research and gather information to generate leads and contacts

· Attend off-hours networking functions and meetings as needed

· Investigate and resolve customer problems

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates will have the following:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related area

· Minimum of 1 year sales experience

· Experience in sports, event management, media or hospitality sales is preferred

· Excellent lead generation and networking skills

· Ability to develop and maintain high-level relationships with company contacts

· Exceptional verbal and written communication/presentation skills

· Ability to effectively manage time

· Strong Microsoft Office skills to include intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills

· Knowledge of contact management systems, Salesforce.com CRM, networking software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software

· Highest degree of ethics and professional conduct

· Confident, pro-active and collaborative style that assimilates well within a team
