North 40 Outfitters in Ponderay, ID is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable fisherman or woman who is familiar with the area, and willing to train others. This position is specifically aimed toward conventional, gear fishing. As part of our Sporting Goods team, you would be responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, generating sales, stocking and merchandising products, and safeguarding company assets. To thrive in this position, you should have a strong knowledge of fishing gear, as well as familiarity with our local waters. • Ability and willingness to demonstrate various techniques, and train others to fish
• Familiar with local areas as well as warm and cold water fishing and conventional fishing equipment
• Must be able to provide "WOW" customer service for our North 40 guests and assist them in meeting their shopping needs
• Good communication skills; easily able to engage with other people regularly, being approachable and patient with even beginner anglers
• Ability to work well with others
• General knowledge of hunting, camping, and hiking
• Must have the physical ability to lift and carry 20-50 pounds on an occasional to repetitive basis, able to spend the majority of shift on feet, bend, stoop and climb ladders regularly
• Ability to meet shift availability requirements, including working on weekends and certain holidays, between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm Monday - Saturday and 9 am to 5 pm on Sundays, as well as flexibility in scheduling based on business needs
