Our customers are served globally through regional service centers supported by both regional and centralized execution teams.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a dual role as Design Manager & Systems Engineer. In the role as Design Manager, the main responsibility is to lead, work alongside, and develop a team of highly skilled Designers responsible for the design, development and project execution of proprietary, high-speed rotating machinery and machinery support systems. As a Systems Engineer, the individual is responsible for the design, development, and integration of turbomachinery auxiliary systems. This position is located at our headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Spend approximately seventy five percent (75%) of time executing systems engineering tasks related to won projects,
- Spend approximately twenty five percent (25%) of time leading 8+ Designers located in Bethlehem as well as up to 3+ Designers located remotely in Pune, India
- Responsible for the equipment concept development, layout, detailed part drawing creation, checking and approval, BOM generation, routing creation, ERP/MRP entries, manufacturing, purchasing and production support necessary throughout the product development and execution life cycle of the equipment produced.
- Work with customer to integrate equipment into process,
- Perform safety and operability design reviews,
- Collaborate with various subject areas to finalize equipment designs,
- Select equipment components and materials,
- Select/design the lubrication systems,
- Standardize the auxiliary systems design to drive cost reduction,
- Customer and supplier interface,
- Check and approve drawings,
- Perform stress analysis using proprietary tools and FEA,
- Execution of specification and code compliant projects,
- Test, troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment,
- Work on new product development,
- Support bid estimates,
- Develop, standardize and evaluate new design tools for implementation,
- Drive cost reductions and competitiveness across execution and product offerings,
- Improve work processes,
- Provide technical guidance and leadership,
- Set standards for execution,
- Motivate, lead, encourage and inspire your team including personnel skills development and career management
- Implement metrics for performance and execution,
- Identify investments targeted at improving capabilities,
- Participate in strategy development and implementation for long term growth and direction with Engineering Services leadership,
- Challenge norms with alternate solutions rooted in sound fundamentals,
- Participate in and support Change Management efforts
- Provide mentorship, feedback, performance evaluations, training plans and set objectives for your team,
- Promote safety and diversity consistent with the philosophies of Rotoflow®,
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Technical Degree: BS Mechanical Engineering or Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent, BS in a technical field a plus,
- 10+years designing equipment or product development,
- 5+years supervising or managing engineers, designers or CAD operators. Experience leading and managing remote teams a plus.
- Equipment start up and plant integration a plus,
- Machinery testing, data acquisition and data evaluation a plus,
- 10+years 2D CAD and 3D modeling, simulation and FEA analysis a plus,
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ERP and MRP Systems a plus,
- Well versed in SAP, Solidworks and Microstation a plus,
- Programming skills: VB, C#, C+, Python, Matlab, Fortran or similar languages a plus,
- Detail and results oriented, organized, creative, self-motivated, collaborative and customer focused,
- Exemplify a real passion for winning and ability to motivate teams,
- Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentation),
- Excellent analytical, creativity, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
