Responsibilities
The RN is responsible for supporting efforts to improve clinical and service excellence of patient care provided. RN s must be able to identify and apply care skills appropriate to the specific patient age groups served. The RN will participate in the achievement of service targets and process goals. For the staff nurse III and IV, it is the responsibility of the RN to complete the requirements, and obtain the appropriate approvals, and submit the required information by the designated timeframes found in the SNAP policy # 8610-420.

Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.
Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Community programs include a Mobile Wellness Clinic, a tattoo removal program, and support groups for patients and new mothers. ALL REGISTERED NURSES will render professional nursing care to patients, support medical care as directed by physicians. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health/Dominican Hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The RN shall support Dignity Health/Dominican Hospital's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
Completion of three years of employment at the Staff Nurse II level with the last six months of employment completed at Dominican Hospital, or completion of two years of employment at the Staff Nurse II level with the last six months of employment completed at Dominican Hospital and completion of a baccalaureate or masters degree in nursing or health related field.
Currently employed as registered nurse in a patient care setting at .7 FTE status or greater.
Employed for 12 months in a recognized specialty area.
Attains qualifying score on performance evaluation received within the last 12 months.
Meets the SNAP requirements for core and optional behaviors as outlined in Policy 8610-420.
Performs relief charge nurse duties as needed

License/Registration/Certification:
- Six months of recent hospital, clinic or similar nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- ASN or Nursing Diploma, required
- Current CA RN License
- BSN Preferred
- Proficient in English.
- Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills require
Pay Range
$71.00 - $87.49 /hour
