Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a Christ-centered, premier residential treatment and educational center serving children ages 10-18 and their families. As a Residential Treatment Specialist at the Ranch, you can walk with these amazing children, ages 10-18, on their journey to hope and healing.


As a Residential Treatment Specialist, you will join an exceptional clinical team to make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve, by helping guide youth towards reaching their goals by meeting them where they are at, hearing their voice, and believing they can.


Salary:
Base starting wage is $18.00/hour


Benefits:
The Ranch offers a great full-time benefits package. This includes generous paid time off (PTO) with full-time employees accruing up to 17 days in the first calendar year of employment along with seven (7) paid holidays. The Ranch offers medical, dental, life insurance, and long-term disability insurance coverages in which employees participate in shared costs of premiums and have the option of purchasing additional coverage for dependents. Retirement Savings Plan (403b) includes a 100% employer match up to 5% after one year of service. Other voluntary benefits include vision coverage, short-term disability insurance, and a term life insurance. Eligible employees may also participate in a Health Savings Account (with $125/month employer contribution) and a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account. Part-Time employees will accrue PTO for hours they are clocked in and can participate in vision and retirement savings; as well as having access to the employee assistance program.

Schedule:
We are currently hiring for the 3:00pm-11:00pm evening position with rotating weekends. Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Residential Treatment Specialists may work a varied schedule compromised of days, evenings, weekdays and weekends, including holidays.


Residential Treatment Specialists will exemplify the following behaviors:

  • Guide youth to reach their goals by fostering relationships through positive role-modeling and positive supportive influence
  • Maintain supervision of youth, providing oversight and care for youth in residential and community settings
  • Record observations relating to actions and behavior of youth and maintains records and reports as required; daily documentation, i.e. weeklies, logs
  • Provide information and interact with parents, referring workers, therapists, and other professionals concerning the status of clients
  • Monitor and maintain a safe living environment
  • Implement interventions on youth’s treatment plans, and evaluate progress.
  • Participate in clinical programming activities with clients (ie groups, recreation, therapeutic riding, etc).
  • Evaluate and respond to emergency situations, for ensure the safety of those served.
  • Administer medications and follow medical treatment orders

This role is similar to other positions titled Youth Care Worker, Youth Program, Residential Program, Youth Worker, Youth Mentor, Direct Support Worker or Professional, Behavioral Health Specialist, Psychiatric Technician, and Youth Counselor.


Job Type(s): The Ranch is hiring for FULL-TIME and PART-TIME for the 3p to 11p shift with rotating weekends. Option for every weekend also available.


Minimum qualifications/education:
Must be 21 or older at the time of application. High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary studies in social science, psychology, behavioral health or human service related fields preferred, but not required. Must pass a background check, including criminal, abuse, and motor vehicle.
