The purpose of this position is to:

1. Supervise, provide and coordinate nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures and to assess residents care needs and take appropriate action.

2. Implement medication orders.

3. Implement treatment orders; to assess resident treatment needs and take appropriate action and to participate in supervision of care provided to residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision to Caregivers and Med Techs.
  • Assist with the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the AL Department.
  • Supervise, evaluate and counsel all direct resident care for your assigned nursing unit and initiate corrective action as necessary. Ensure that disciplinary action is administered fairly and consistently, and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap or marital status.
  • Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner assuring necessary equipment and supplies are maintained and operable.
  • Review all resident information and complete an assessment of the resident prior to move-in, when changes in the resident’s condition occur, and as required by residence policy and state regulation.
  • Review the resident’s medical report prior to move-in to ensure that the facility can provide for the resident’s individual needs and regulatory requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Order medications and oversee the resident’s medication schedule for residents receiving medication administration services. · Ensure proper documentation for medication assistance/administration
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the resident, resident’s family and physician regarding the resident’s medical needs.
  • Assist with counseling residents and families.

Experience:

  • Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
