We are currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse for Abington Perinatal Associates. Locations include Doylestown, Horsham, Lansdale and Blue Bell, PA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordination of patient care and an important participant in policy and procedure implementations as they relate to medical services for nursing staff, both in person and via the telephone.
• Evaluates and assesses patient’s health care needs based on patient’s signs and symptoms utilizing established triage protocols and guidelines
• Obtains appropriate input and direction from the provider as needed to determine best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care
• Accurately documents symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response. Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as improve health care outcomes of patients/callers and their access to appropriate health.

Other job duties include but are not limited to:

• Consult with physicians on all results of testing
• Report results of testing to patients
• Monitor blood sugars and order for medications
• Utilize EMR to document patient care
• Educate patients and their families about their prescribed follow-up, medications, therapies, and teaching self injection skills as needed.
• Evaluates and assesses patient’s health care needs based on patient’s signs and symptoms utilizing established triage protocols and guidelines
• Obtains appropriate input and direction from the provider as needed to determine best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care
• Accurately documents symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response. Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as improve health care outcomes of patients/callers and their access to appropriate health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse, with a degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Have a current PA Registered Nurse certification and CPR certification.
• Preferably ACLS certified
• A minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical facility, preferably in an OB/GYN setting.
• Knowledge of CPT coding, lab specific order sets, and eCW are beneficial..
• Will need to be able to do NST/AFI/BPP
