About this role:
The Regional Vice President of Operations (RVP) is the senior field operating position in the organization. The RVP has four main areas of responsibility: employee and talent, executive level client management, clinical quality management and oversight for medical and mental health services, supporting business development activity to ensure the growth of their region, and regional P&L management. The RVP ensures the highest quality clinical care is delivered to the inmates entrusted to our care by allocating our healthcare funds to deliver the most appropriate care to the greatest number of inmates. The RVP ensures we meet or exceed our commitments to all stakeholders: our employees, our clients, board members and each other. This is accomplished by the oversight and management of a regional team. The RVP and the regional team act as the conduit for the sharing of information between their region and the home office, collaborating with all functions in the home office.
Additional Details: Executive Level Regional Leadership role based in Atlanta, Georgia with travel throughout the state. Multi-Location Healthcare Operations Management experience required. Correctional Healthcare leadership experience required. What you bring to the table:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or health related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in delivery and administration of multi-site management.
- Experience in correctional medical, dental, and mental health care preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- NCCHC-CCHP certification required or in process
Compliance
:
- Must comply with all current and future State, Federal and Local laws and regulations, court orders, department rules, administrative directives, institutional directives, American Correctional Association (ACA), the Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) Standards, National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC) and policies and procedures of applicable sites.
Employee and Talent Management:
- Mentor, coach and support all direct reports, including evaluation and development opportunities.
- Review clinical and operating metrics versus expectations
- Collaborate with all corporate and administrator support functions to ensure success.
- Assists in recruitment of contracted professional providers (physicians, psychiatrists, APP, etc.), if applicable
- Ensures appropriate licensure, credentialing, and insurance coverage on all medical personnel, i.e., physicians, and APP’s, if applicable
Executive-level Client Management:
- Ensure that facilities under management achieve clinical, service, and operating objectives
- Report on key performance indicators, statistics, facility developments, and important developments.
- Monitor adherence to contract, P&Ps, company, and appropriate state and county rules and regulations
- Ensure compliance with contract reporting requirements
- Work with team members concerning staffing needs on contract renewals
- Monitors the implementation and effectiveness of procedures and programs in assigned division.
- Serve as backup to Regional Managers to participate in MAC/QI/P&T and other required meetings.
- Participate in business development to include marketing, proposal writing and oral presentations.
Clinical Quality Management:
- Develop and monitor clinical quality metrics
- Identify and provide training needs for clinical staff
- Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external processes.
- Evaluates and recommends methods of improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Closely monitors all sentinel events and potential catastrophic illnesses and explores/utilizes all appropriate means of limiting both company and contractor’s liabilities.
- Identify problem areas of operations and propose solutions. Conducts ongoing evaluation of services and health care programs, proactively identifies potential problems and develops and takes corrective action.
- Promotes Quality Improvement standards by actively participating in the quality of care screen audits.
P&L Management:
- Monitor and manage compliance and changes to staffing plans
- Ensure key operating metrics are being met including but not limited to staffing/schedules/payroll, labor costs, supply costs, pharmacy costs and turnover
- Participate in development of annual operating plan for applicable region
- Analyze financial statements and create and maintain financial forecasts.
- Create and maintain various budgets.
- Evaluates financial and statistical data and program needs and makes recommendations for improvements.
