POSITION PURPOSE:
At Reddy Ice, we are working toward a vision of becoming North America’s “Total Ice Solution.”
The Regional Logistics Manager (RLM) is primarily responsible for routing strategy, field execution of routing, total delivery optimization, and Distributor/Co-Packer execution across the assigned region. The RLM partners with the RVP, the corporate supply chain team, and locations leadership to drive reduced distribution costs and improved customer satisfaction. The RLM ensures that distribution is conducted efficiently in compliance with all state, federal and corporate guidelines and policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the RVP and Director of Delivery Optimization with ongoing field & supply chain teamwork to reduce both skipped stops and out-of-stocks across all delivery methods.
- Partner with regional leadership on all delivery planning and execution improvements.
- Collaborate with corporate supply-chain team and RLM’s from other regions on system-wide routing improvements (delivery and retail merchandiser) and share/implement best practices.
- Support field execution of and compliance with routing plans; facilitate feedback from all levels of the organization.
- Support equipment optimization and staffing models for delivery employee staffing targets at each location and distributors, in accordance with the strategic plans for the region and federal/local hours of service, weight limits, and other transportation regulations.
- Act as the point of contact for all driver headcount, light duty, material handling equipment, special event equipment, heavy duty equipment, and Distributor coverage for the region. Assist the RVP and Sr. Manager of Supply Chain/Logistics with resources and special event planning and management.
- Work with locations across the region on continuous improvement in all areas of company operational execution. Assist with driver SOP development and best practices for training.
- Develop and manage scorecards on metrics/KPI’s, including but not limited to under-service, over-service, skipped stops, unscheduled stops, fleet differential from target, and other metrics.
- Manage and monitor distribution expenses across the region (e.g. delivery labor, vehicles, transfer costs / third party transport, supplies, maintenance, drayage costs, etc.). Negotiate rates with third party delivery companies.
- Responsible for all Distributor transportation analysis, transitional third party delivery provider implementation, delivery data collection, and delivery customer service.
- Assist with Customer Service Manager training on total region delivery management, compliance, metrics, tools, and execution.
- Assist with training the Region’s Plant Managers, DC Managers, and Delivery Supervisors on delivery management, compliance, and execution.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Coaching relationships with CSM’s, Dispatchers, DC Managers, Plant Managers, and other field personnel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree preferred.
- 5 + years experience with operational management of warehouse or distribution center.
- Intermediate expertise with routing software such as Roadnet (or similar), and the MS Office Suite.
- Minimum 2 years experience in delivery operations, preferably in the ice business or related food production industry.
- Intermediate knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act and relevant state/local laws.
- Demonstrated ability with reducing costs, improving processes, managing change and people to continuously improve and grow an operation.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management.
- Strong people leadership skills, demonstrated team building, teaching, coaching, and motivational competencies.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 50% - 75% travel; a valid drivers license and acceptable MVR is required
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Conditions vary from normal office conditions using typical office equipment to standing and walking through all areas inside and outside of a plant. Exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations, electrical hazards, ammonia and heavy moving equipment.
- This position works in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex business situations is essential. A valid drivers license and acceptable MVR is required since this position requires occasional travel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
