2nd Shift 8:00am-4:30pm

3rd Shift 4:00pm-12:30am

Shift Differential Pay added for 1st, 3rd and weekend shifts

$15 per Hour - Sign On Bonus $1,200

JOB SUMMARY

In accordance with the agency's mission, vision, values and goals the Recovery Technician adheres to a standard of professionalism under the guidance of the Lead Recovery Technician who provides leadership in our residential program. The Recovery Technician will interact with residents, co-workers, HCBC's team members and vendors daily demonstrating self-initiative and positive leadership. This position includes conducting interaction with clients, maintaining the program policies according to handbook and guidelines, and completing assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Provides direct monitoring of staff and residents to meet program goals in accordance with agency policies.
  • Is responsible to follow all program schedules including meals, recreation, smoke breaks, groups, and other activities outlined in the policies as changes occur.
  • Completes medication counts as required, and reports issues related to medications, medical, or behavioral health needs of the resident to the Program Manager or designee.
  • Enters program and resident information in an electronic record keeping system and trains staff in the system consistent with program requirements.
  • Collects specimen to perform urine analysis and conducts Breathalyzer testing.
  • Monitors for accuracy and completeness of daily shift reports, headcounts, movements, security rounds, admissions, discharges, violation reports, health and safety activities, and program activities.
  • Serves as the Health and Safety coordinator for the residential facility, conducting facility inspections regularly to ensure safety and cleanliness of facility, and coordinates Health and Safety activities including drills and evacuations as required by policy.
  • Conducts dorm searches to ensure that residents are not in violation of policies.
  • Provides initial on the job training as well as ongoing training as needed to program staff
  • Provides direct support to the Program Manager and ensures that all new hire staff have email, secure message, medication access and time clock access.
  • Communicates client admissions and discharges as outlined by program requirements and consistent with stakeholder expectations
  • Follows all agency policies and procedures, code of conduct, associate manual, and training to ensure appropriate operations of the program.
  • Prepares reports as required by the Program Manager
  • Serves as the secondary contact for all matters related to the program staff, including after-hours and weekend calls as required by the Program Manager.
  • Attend all training as assigned.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Performs other related work as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • General knowledge of the nature of addiction and ability to recognize and meet the emotional and physical needs of residents
  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skill in resolving conflicts and negotiating with others
  • Strong customer service skills; able to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with residents, co-workers, supervisors, law enforcement and the general public.
  • Demonstrates culturally competent respect for all clients and guests through verbal and non-verbal behaviors and assists them as needed.
  • Able to meet deadlines in preparing and maintaining accurate, legible and organized records; must have good grammar to complete reports
  • Skill in resolving conflicts and negotiating with others
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Able to act decisively when necessary to assist with and protect clients

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Military, Criminal Justice, Corrections, Substance Use Disorder Treatment, or Behavioral Health Experience preferred
  • Experience with people of diverse backgrounds, behavioral health, or criminal justice system involvement is preferred.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

No candidate may be considered for employment who is, or has been for the past two (2) years under the supervision of Federal, State, County or Municipal Corrections Department nor have any pending felony or misdemeanor charges other than minor traffic charges.
