Umpqua Health Newton Creek (UHNC) in Roseburg, Oregon is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist in our fast-paced clinic and Urgent Care. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

Performs high-quality radiographic procedures within the scope of license at a technical and professional level that does not require direct supervision.

• Performs appropriate patient evaluation and uses proper technical factors for diagnostic image production.
• Operate digital x-ray and auxiliary equipment, and process images.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment including; clean machines, equipment, work area.
• Perform calibrations and accurately document results of all x-ray systems.
• Develop radiographic techniques as required.
• Maintain required patient documentation for all radiographic procedures.
• Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower any anxiety.
• Follow Physician or Provider instruction regarding the area of the patient’s body needing imaging.
• Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position.
• Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
• Follow the correct techniques, procedures and OSHA safety protocols such as patient shielding.
• Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and assisting in placing orders.
• Comply with organization’s internal policies and procedures, Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, along with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS*

• Current ARRT certification.
• Current Oregon license as a Registered Technologist.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in Urgent Care setting preferred.
