The Quality Technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of any equipment utilized by him/her in the discharge of his/her responsibilities. Responsible for inspecting parts to meet customer specifications and assisting General Manager, Shift Manager or designate in related tasks with limited supervision.

M*I*NIMUM POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

· Education: High School diploma or equivalent

· Experience: One to three years’ experience in manufacturing, thermal processing or related field.

· Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.

· Physical Demands: Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.

· Must have good vision, corrected/uncorrected, for precise reading of equipment.

· Must have working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology.

· Must have general knowledge of commercial materials and plant equipment.

· Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, be detail oriented and possess manual dexterity.

· Work Environment: May be exposed to heat, noise, humidity, fumes.

· Must be able to work overtime, any shift and any day of the week.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain status of certified forklift operator.

· Be willing to participate in technical training courses related to quality inspection as requested or recommended by the Company.

· Ability to read and interpret heat treatment specifications as supplied by the customer and/or Company Engineering.

· Desired Skills: Knowledge of spark testing, blue print reading, hardness, tensile, impact, and microstructure evaluation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Accurately performs hardness and other tests and records results as required.

· Completes conformance certificates and other related paperwork.

· Performs shop audits and/or reviews as required.

· Meets all specification requirements per customer specifications.

· Brings any deviation, problem or irregularity to supervisor or management.

· Responsible for the completion of test reports, the conveyance of pertinent information to relieving Technician, Close liaison with operators and shift lead and the segregation of material or product where so required.

· Responsible for any recommended preventive maintenance of equipment related to quality.

· Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
