We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The QA Technician reports directly to the QA Supervisor and is responsible for all facets of Quality Inspection and Monitoring Areas as well as GMP, food safety and quality enforcement. Responsible for verification of compliance to food safety policies and procedures. Ensures the food safety and quality of all processes from raw materials to finished products through inspection, diagnosis and record keeping. Provide all necessary support for all food safety initiatives to ensure the production of safe and high-quality products. Perform testing and maintain quality documentation according to food safety and quality programs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Conduct sensory evaluation and enter the results into a database.
• Perform basic lab analysis (pH, brix, temperature, weight) on in-process and finished product.
• Report all product standard deviations to operation supervisor to initiate immediate correction action.
• Verify the acceptability of ingredients and packaging materials based on internal specification for the product.
• Conduct metal detector observations and calibration.
• Verify the calibration of all scales and thermometers.
• Monitor GMP for compliance.
• Assist with training for GMP.
• Assist with solving problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and corrective action.
• Communicate effectively with team members from other shifts to ensure clarity and continuity.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience in food production QA is preferred
• Knowledge of HACCP, SSOP and GMP
• Strong troubleshooting ability
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Decision-making: Responsible for deciding if an item should be placed on hold and use decision making skills to conclude if in process product is within specification.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Must instruct all employees on any GMP and food safety violations.

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift at least 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
