Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the purchase of electrical materials, rentals, and equipment for successful project outcomes
• Secure and evaluate quotes for materials and services and negotiate price, quality, terms and delivery with both existing and new vendors
• Interact with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Prepare and manage purchase orders and follow up on past-due purchase orders
• Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• Fulfill requirements from field staff, procures and ensures product is ordered at a competitive price and delivery of product to user within required timeframes
• Communicate with the field and operations team on materials, rentals and equipment, which includes tracking, delivery, and pickup coordination
• Work closely with A/P and Project Managers to quickly resolve problem invoices and remit for payment within an acceptable time frame
• Take a proactive approach to purchasing
• Keep tracking reports related to all purchases
• Responsible for coordinating will calls for materials from vendors
• Schedule deliveries of materials to job sites
• Knowledge of Fleet maintenance, tracking, and procurement are a plus
• Knowledge of transportation electrical products, such as roadway lighting, signs, sign structures, and traffic signals are a plus

Qualifications:

• Prefer more than five years of electrical purchasing experience
• Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures
• Familiarity of local/national electrical suppliers
• Ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing, and delivery
• Work effectively with vendors, customers, operations, field, and accounting team
• Ability to provide accurate and timely information, projections and recommendations based on specific budget and schedule requirements
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and establish priorities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work assignments
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality oriented
