Description:
Brain Balance of Greater San Diego seeks a dynamic Coach who possesses outstanding interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and coaching experience with neurodivergent kids, teens, and/or adults. The Brain Balance Program® is a research-based, drug-free brain training program to improve performance, regulation, cognition, focus, anxiety, confidence, and more. It addresses the root causes behind behavioral, social, and cognitive challenges (i.e. ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory processing, memory, etc.) through a personalized, holistic program incorporating proven cognitive, behavioral, and nutrition methods—an integrated approach that is literally redefining what’s possible for kids, teens, and adults. The Coach is responsible for executing individualized programs. In addition, the Coach should maintain communication with parents and staff and support program development and operations as needed. We offer extensive and ongoing training, and training is paid. The Coach reports to the Program Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead students through their individualized Brain Balance program by motivating students ages 4+ and/or adults to complete a series of physical and sensory motor exercises, academic and cognitive skills training, and social and emotional learning (SEL) skills
- Operations
- Outreach/Community relations, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
- Direct experience working with people with neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, defiance, learning disabilities, etc.)
- Backgrounds in physical training, physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), behavioral interventions such as ABA, education, martial arts, or psychology a plus
- Effective and adaptable communication strategies with staff, students, parents, and the community
- Organized and detail-oriented; comfortable with tablets and technology
- Creative problem solver, patient, compassionate, proactive, and energetic
- Team player
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Bilingual, particularly Spanish preferred
Hours: Part-time; 10-32 hours/week; opportunities for growth
Wage: Dependent on experience
