McLean Hospital, America’s top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for a Full Time Staff Psychologist, in Belmont, MA. This position is open to candidates completing their post-doctoral training.
Overview:
McLean Hospital is seeking to fill a full-time Psychologist position with the Trauma Continuum of Care. The position includes duties with the Outpatient Trauma Clinic as well as the Hill Center Partial Hospital Program. The ideal candidate will have training and experience assessing for and treating trauma-related disorders including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) using evidence-based assessments and interventions.
The Outpatient Trauma Clinic provides individual and group psychotherapy services for adults who have experienced trauma. Evidence-based treatment interventions for PTSD including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for PTSD are offered to trauma survivors on a time-limited basis.
The Hill Center specializes in the treatment of trauma-related disorders including PTSD and dissociative disorders. The Hill Center is a partial hospital, group treatment program that serves those who are just beginning their trauma recovery process or those with prior exposure to trauma treatment who may be struggling due to life circumstances or exacerbation of trauma symptoms.
General Summary:
Conduct diagnostic interviews and provide timely case conceptualization, patient feedback and treatment recommendations. Provide time-limited, evidence-based outpatient treatment for trauma-related disorders among adults. Provide group psychotherapy for Hill Center partial hospital program patients. Collaborate and participate in peer consultation with a multidisciplinary team of trauma treatment providers and experts.
This person will have the responsibility to provide clinical services for assigned patients, as well as to participate in the activities of the Hill Center Partial Hospital Program and Outpatient Trauma Clinic. This person may also have opportunities to participate in hospital community service, research and teaching as indicated by interests, training, and experience.
- Provides clinical services including individual and group psychotherapy.
- Documents in the record by the completion of treatment plans, patient encounter forms, appropriate progress notes, clinical summaries, and other documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Serves as liaison to other health care professionals including mental health practitioners, medication providers, Hill Center and Outpatient Trauma Clinic team members, and others.
- Participates in program and hospital administrative activities (e.g., staff meetings, peer consultation, hospital committees, etc.)
- Maintains awareness of medicolegal/risk management issues.
- Participates in the hospital teaching and research efforts.
Salary and recruitment package in accordance with Hospital policies, and a Harvard Medical School appointment at the academic rank of Lecturer, Instructor or Assistant Professor (full or part time) will be contingent on meeting the requirements for an HMS appointment and candidate qualifications including Massachusetts licensure.
Qualifications:
· Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an accredited school of psychology.
· Licensure appropriate to clinical discipline.
· All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
· Required to complete electronic medical records training and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
