Position Description:

The Project Manager/Senior Management Consultant provides management consulting subject matter expertise and oversight of management consulting programs/projects using best practice project management techniques.

Minimum/General Experience: 10 years of experience in management consulting; 5 years experience as a Project Manager

Minimum Education: BS/BA in an associated discipline or the equivalent years in experience; Program Management Institute (PMI), Program Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent (preferred)

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Expert experience providing services under NAICs 541611 Administrative Management and General Management Consulting Services (e.g., strategic planning, governance, performance management/dashboards, federal office stand ups)
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of PMI project and program management methodology and techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of federal civilian agencies (e.g., Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred), Defense Health Agency, Health and Human Services)
  • Excellent experience developing/managing project Schedules, Work Plans, and Action Items
  • Excellent experience with staffing, planning, and people management
  • Strong leadership and management skills leading prime contracts with subcontractor support
  • Above average ability to link and integrate project deliverables, work products, and activities
  • Above average experience promoting process improvement
  • Above average experience dealing with complexity, analyzing information, and implementing company vision
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques

Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide management consulting subject matter expertise and facilitation (e.g., strategic planning, governance, performance management/dashboards, federal office stand ups)
  • Oversee overall performance of project(s)
  • Leverage tools and techniques to accelerate project progress and success
  • Manage cross-project interdependency
  • Manage conflict resolution within the framework of business and project objectives
  • Support program analysis, strategic planning, integrated master scheduling, metrics, acquisitions management, and risk management in support of business process engineering/re-engineering
  • Facilitate discussions with client to determine areas of possible improvement
  • Execute daily project management throughout the project life cycle
  • Supervise all resources in meeting project deliverables, contract requirements, and company requirements; redirect resources as necessary
  • Manage project budget to meet project goals
  • Assist program office with checking the quality of systems developed under projects as well as performance of other vendors under independent programs
  • Perform as an Oxley Supervisor
    • Perform as a Hiring Manager during the Recruiting Process
    • Implement corporate goals; Establish and implement employee individual goals
    • Oversee timesheets, PTO management and tracking, and compliance items; Implement and monitor adherence to employee handbook, code of conduct, policies, and quality management practices
    • Provide an environment that promotes productivity, efficiency, and quality
    • Resolve employee/subcontractor issues; Address pain points; Provide guidance and problem solving
    • Coach, mentor, motivate, and/or train employees and subcontractors
    • Demonstrate familiarity with what each team member's responsibilities and assignments are
    • Assemble weekly, bi-monthly, and/or monthly data for project reports and project past performance documents and project/corporate metrics
