Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our project management team in Broad’s
Data Science Platform
(DSP). DSP is a core part of the Broad Institute, a deeply-collaborative scientific institution that is transforming medicine and human health by building software solutions to process and analyze scientific data on an unprecedented scale. This role would oversee the execution of projects related to genomic data ingestion and management sponsored by philanthropic, federal, and industry partners. A key component of many of our projects is to help serve up data in our data repositories on the cloud. Your role is to be the project's technical point of contact, translating work between our project customers to our engineering teams and back, managing and prioritizing the workload to ensure the project is delivered on time.
The Project Manager’s role is to build a trusted and valuable partnership with the many internal and external stakeholders in each project. The right candidate will manage these relationships by serving as a key representative of DSP and our products. Furthermore, they will communicate effectively with internal product & engineering teams, serving as a key part of our centralized implementation and delivery process. We are looking for a team member who shares our affinity for organization, timeline management, and execution.
This role can be performed remotely with minimal onsite travel expectations.
Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee standard operating processes. You will define and implement standard operating processes that are efficient and scalable when necessary.
  • Customer Liaison. You will serve as a liaison between the major stakeholders who provide funding (e.g., NIH program officers, principal investigators, and industry executives) and DSP’s internal solutions engineering teams to communicate milestone progress and mediation of issues that arise.
  • Team player. You will work closely with others on the project management team to achieve best practices for operating and reporting on projects (finances, milestones, risks, etc.).
Requirements
  • You are skilled in project management, organization, planning and execution, and documenting standard operating procedures.
  • You can manage collaborations by clearly communicating complex issues between various stakeholders.
  • You have experience working closely with engineering teams.
  • You are adept at working with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment and enjoy collaborating on processes, documentation, and structure to create transparency around your work.
  • You can effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects and competing deadlines.
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • You understand genomic data types and file types
  • You are comfortable talking with customers about their genomic datasets
