As a Project Manager you will have the leadership and management responsibility for successfully executing the assigned projects including but not limited to on time and in budget delivery of the expected benefits consistent with contract requirements. Manages projects for profitability, on time deliveries, and customer satisfaction for the time of the sale to the end of the warranty period.
Expectations
To excel in the role, you must be project oriented with a problem solving mindset to be able to identify and develop possible solutions. You must be able to work independently, however have no fear you will be surrounded by a team of subject matter experts to support you. In this role, some travel will be required with most of the time being throughout North America and on occasion international.
Responsibilities
- Distribute the customer order as needed to various sub-units within Valmet and ensure internal PO's or order notifications are issued according to the processes.
- Define the project organization and identify the need for resources, which are provided by the line organization.
- Work with participating parties early in the project, establishing contact between the project groups, creating good cooperation, and establishing the formal guidelines and schedules to be followed throughout the project.
- Coordinate relevant activities, such as HSE, time, quality, cost, contractual interpretations, change management, with participating Valmet units and external partners.
- Check, comment and ensure budget entry into the ERP system at project start.
- Perform project and product risk and opportunity management within the project.
- Responsibility for project main schedule and coordination of schedules (Valmet units and partners).
- Lead activities to maximize the financial result.
- Maintain project forecast.
- Ensure that the project execution model activities are completed for the project.
To succeed in this role you will need
Associates or Bachelor’s degree desired.
Experience of 5 years or more with advancing levels of responsibility may be substituted in lieu of the degree or considered an asset when accompanied by a degree; Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry, power or process plant desired;
