Autonomous Medical Devices Incorporated (AMDI) is an early-stage, California company focused on developing and manufacturing Autolabs and their associated test discs for human clinical diagnostics. Each of AMDI’s Autolabs are small, portable point-of-care diagnostics devices using breakthrough microfluidics, hardware, and data/cloud connectivity to deliver secure lab quality results in <15 minutes. AMDI has built a world class, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, clinicians, and database experts and will launch its first Research Use Only (RUO) products in 2023 from its ISO 13485 certified 110,000 square foot facility in Santa Ana, CA.
Summary of Position
We are looking for a Project Manager with a passion and desire to create great new medical devices and build new businesses. The Project Manager will take a hands-on role in owning mission-critical projects. Oversee all project functions including planning, task management, and coordination to drive and ensure the successful execution of key projects such as Fast PCR. Will be responsible for the creation and communication of end-to-end project plans that clearly outline timelines, dependencies, resources, and ownership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all areas of project management, focusing heavily on schedule management, performance metrics, resource management, risk management, communications management, and process development and improvement.
- Develop, plan, execute, and manage the roadmap, established timelines, and provide guidance for projects to successfully drive the business forward through the agreed scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Collaborates with and establishes rapport with all levels of project functions including R&D, Operations, Marketing, Quality & Regulatory.
- Provide updates to management and engineering leads on project milestone items.
- Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other team members.
- Proactively identify project roadblocks, implement countermeasures on time to prevent project delays, and escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization when necessary.
- Utilize project management tools and forms to document project activities.
Qualifications Required for Position
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Bioengineering, Biomedical, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in the Life Science industry.
- PMP certification or similar preferred.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strict attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with the ability to drive the achievement of objectives.
- Working knowledge regarding usage of MS Office Suite, MS Project, or related project management software.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and present at meetings.
- Ability to effectively resolve issues and escalate as needed.
- Ability to lead other individuals and provide guidance, direction, and training to others within the team, if needed.
- Ability to lead meetings efficiently.

Work Environment
