Project Engineer Job at Hargrove Engineers + Constructors
Overview
The Project Engineer is generally responsible for development & implementation of large-scale capital projects.
Duties
- Follow all applicable HSE procedures and lead by example by working safely in all situations.
- Personally comply with all corporate safety standards.
- Ensure that projects are designed adhering to corporate safety standards and that the safety in design is not compromised.
- Work directly with the Project Manager / Director during all phases of the project and complete tasks as assigned.
- Assist Project Manager / Director in development of clear engineering deliverables scope to the project team.
- Assist Project Manager / Director in compiling costs for proposal estimates, including equipment pricing and contractor input.
- Maintain positive and open communication with Operations, and Engineering support personnel for timely resolution of technical issues.
- Assist Project Manager / Director to ensure the best engineering solutions are evaluated and implemented for project.
- Assist with basic engineering design such as P&ID mark-up coordination.
- Assist Project Manager / Director with scope change identification and timely submittal of PCN.
- Ensure that value engineering with cost cutting exercises are carried out and incorporate the pertinent changes.
- Assist Project Manager / Director in specification of equipment. Ensure that technical procedures and methods are being applied to the project. Work with Supply Management on vendor selection and technical bid clarification.
- Participate in Design Reviews. Assist project manager with meeting minutes compilation and action item resolution.
- Assist facility in MOC compilation and submittal process on applicable projects.
- Participate in PHA. Assist project manager and RMR with Action Item closure.
- Participate in PSSR. Assist project manager and Operations Representative with closure of pre and post start-up actions.
- Support engineering disciplines on specific issues.
- Support field activities during the construction phase.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree from an accredited university. Mechanical or Chemical preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of engineering experience on projects.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Solution-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with other entities / disciplines / departments.
- Strong organizational and people management skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to perform under stress and time constraints.
- Strong digital skills, including MS Products (Excel. Word, MS Project) and Google Suite tools.
- Comfortable in both Corporate and Field environments.
- Expected travel
- Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
