OVERVIEW:

Operates progressive stampings punch presses and starts metal strips per work instructions. Operates machines and runs jobs to PSSI quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates automatic power press and auxiliary equipment in a safe and correct manner.
• Performs and documents scheduled preventive equipment maintenance. Communicates equipment related problems correctly.
• Identifies, handles, and requisitions raw material.
• Performs and documents required visual and physical quality inspections as indicated by work instructions
• Reads, interprets, and complies with the Production Work Order.
• Correctly identifies and handles non-conforming product.
• Correctly handles all products.
• Complies with all safety programs especially those related to production such as press guarding, lock/out, etc.
• Personal protective equipment, fire and electrical safety, and glasses and hearing conservation.
• Correctly handles scrap during and after production.
• Keeps work area clean and well organized.
• Uses computers for data entry in a specified and appropriate manner.
• May assist in the training of other employees as indicated.
• Restocking of all supplies, required for jobs
• Able to run 3-4 machines after training has finished
• Capable of starting progression strips on all tools in area trained.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years of manufacturing and/or logistics experience is preferred
• Dependable
• Able to read, write and speak fluent English
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos; able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one situations
• Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; perform these mathematical operations using units of weight measurement and volume; and also possess the ability to figure percentages.
