An exciting Programs Director opportunity has just arisen with an American company leading vertically integrated provider of end-to-end satellite solutions. Our client combines satellite design, production, launch planning, mission operations, and in-orbit support to meet the needs of the most demanding military, civil, and commercial customers. In addition, they are developing the world’s largest, most advanced NextGen Earth Observation constellation to provide persistent, real-time earth imagery.


Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts necessary to support business initiatives that meet company and customer contractual programs

  • Develop strategic business plans and metrics for forecasting revenue, expenses, capital, and headcount

  • Support the business development process

  • Lead a team of 4 experienced Program Managers

  • Motivate, coach, and mentor employees

  • Support all milestone program reviews both internally and customer-facing

  • Analyze cost and revenue performance of programs, providing revenue forecasts and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet profitability targets

  • Contribute towards continuous technology and process improvement

Requirements:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical area

  • Over 7 years of experience leading high-complex spacecraft or military/defense programs

  • Leadership/mentoring experience

  • Solid understanding of the Space and Mission Payloads business market

  • Established relationships with DoD Primes

  • Ability to understand contracts, business law, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and apply the concepts and principles, including knowledge of cost accounting principles and finance

  • Experience developing proposals for defense and civil agency announcements and mission opportunities

  • Must have a practical interpretation and knowledge of US trade regulations and ITAR regulations

  • Ability to mentor, guide, and grow skills of the program management team

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

  • You must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US TS/SCI Security Clearance and all special accesses required for a portfolio of special programs
