Bachelor’s degree in computer science from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and two years of experience as a computer programmer or systems analyst; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of experience as a computer programmer or systems analyst.

The University of South Alabama’s Center for Strategic Health Innovation – College of Medicine is seeking to hire a Medical Informatics Programmer Analyst II. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Prepares and presents research utilizing business intelligence software to create charts, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Maintains proficiency in coding languages and analysis tools to include SQL, Excel, Access, Tableau, and Python.
- Assists in developing application modifications to enhance functionality.
- Creates and updates documentation for applications and may provide training to users on new or changed processes.
- Works with clients to assess data requirements and develops scripts and software applications to support data management, data extraction and data analysis.
- Documents process flow and update documentation when required.
- Maintains and enhances existing systems.
- Resolves software bugs, identifies ways to improve system performance, and develops new requested functionality.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime is required.
- Related duties as required.
