Production Technician Job at Amcor
JOB OVERVIEW:
As a production technician with Amcor, you will be given the opportunity to develop your skills further on the job. Cylinder Technicians will support production by staging cylinders for upcoming work orders, maintaining inventory, and measuring cylinders for quality. Ink Technicians will mix inks, adhesives, and coatings to match customer specifications to produce quality material on our Rotogravure and Lamination presses.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE:
12 Hour Straight Days or Nights, 2-2-3 Shift running from 6-6.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS A CYLINDER TECHNICAN:
- Operate lifting equipment (i.e. hoists and forklifts)
- Responsible for controlling and storing cylinders in support of production
- Support production during setups including loading cylinders to achieve proper NFPA direction
- Responsible for neat and accurate documentation to maintain traceability
- Work with Graphics Department to coordinate cylinder transport to and from engraver
- Measure cylinders for baseline and wear
- Track cylinder usage based on production impressions
- Responsible for cleaning cylinders before shipping to the engraver
- Maintain a clean and safe working area
- Complete housekeeping, lift truck and hoist inspections
- Operate STORAX cylinder storage system
- Maintain cylinder storage spreadsheet
- Responsible for checking cylinder OD
- Measuring cell geometry using the Troika Microscope and Camera
WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS AN INK TECHNICIAN:
- Job setup for batch ink mixing
- Create ink room color standards
- Return, store, and use press returned inks
- Formulate color matches for customer approval (proofs)
- Ability to color match at press site
- Mix adhesives and coatings
- Conduct computerized color control
- Clean and use 6S to organize ink room and dispensing system
- Maintain and operate solvent distillation equipment
- Assist with inventory of raw materials
- Assist Press Assistants & Operators during change overs as time permits
- All other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
- Knowledge of printing preferred
- Experience with effective color matching, color theory and color troubleshooting preferred
- Accurate measurement skills; knowledge of metric conversation
- Basic mechanical ability
- Solid communication and teamwork skills
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule of up to 12-hour shifts
- Willing and able to operate fork lifts and hand jacks as needed

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.30 - $19.50 per hour
