JK Executive Strategies has partnered exclusively with *Baldwin Richardson Foods* (BRF), in their search for two (2) Production Supervisors, (1) for 2nd Shift and (1) for 3rd Shift. The Production Supervisors are responsible for the management and coordination of their production teams on a shift to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety, and productivity. Leads key production initiatives such as safety, lean manufacturing programs, training and other production related activities as assigned. These roles are also the backup to the Plant Manager with daily production initiatives including maintaining a high quality, clean, safe, and efficient work environment that meets all customer requirements.

BRF has strong supply relationships with some of the world’s largest Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) and Food Service customers. Baldwin Richardson Foods is experiencing a period of rapid growth as a result of both successful relationships with existing customers and a rapid influx of new customers. To enable continued growth, they have kicked off a company-wide transformation, touching everything from the way they look for and at commercial opportunities to the way they manufacture and deliver products for their existing customers. Some of the key enablers of the manufacturing transformation are driving a culture of continuous improvement across their plants and leveraging Industry 4.0 (I4.0) to improve performance visibility, provide actionable insights, and automate manual processes.

Responsibilities:

· Maintains workflow by monitoring the steps of the process; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; developing reporting procedures and systems; and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

· Leads production staff by clearly defining job responsibilities and standards of performance.

· Reviews final weekly production schedules to determine types, quantities, and specifications of products to plan department operations.

· Utilizes machinery and personnel to get maximum production and efficiency for each production run. Works to reduce and eliminate all sources of waste including raw materials, time, and equipment failures. Evaluates performance and quality of product.

· Assures material, resources, and equipment preparedness in support of day-to-day production requirements.

· Coordinates activities with the other shift superintendents according to work order requirements, established priorities and availability of employees, parts, materials and equipment.

· Ensures adequate preparation for incoming shift to be successful by providing concise, accurate and detailed shift reports to incoming shift which communicates variations and activities that could impact quality.

· Conducts daily shift meetings to communicate required company and shift specific information through the utilization of Redzone.

· Assists in interviewing and hiring of staff, on assigned shift, and cross-functionally as requested by other hiring managers.

  • Evaluates and manages employee performance by clearly defining job responsibilities and standards of performance; providing clear, thorough, timely feedback; and addressing performance problems and issues promptly. Thoroughly and sensitively provides constructive criticism.

· Conducts ongoing assessment and training needs identification including maintaining the training / skill matrix for employees assigned to their team.

· Assists in interviewing and hiring of staff, on assigned shift, and cross-functionally as requested by other hiring managers.

  • Provides leadership and accountability for achieving targets for assigned areas of specialized responsibility such as safety, training, lean manufacturing, yield improvements, processing, and packaging continuous improvement.

· Assists the Production Manager with supporting the variable budgets for production operations and with analyzing and justifying capital requirements.

  • Completes and analyzes Shift Reports on a daily basis and recommends continuous improvement initiatives for these production metrics with the Production Manager.

Qualifications:

· Two (2) + years of experience as a Production Supervisor.

· Five (5) + years of manufacturing experience required.

· Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations (such as federal and state labor laws, EPA, OSHA and food safety) needed.

· Organization skills and willingness to assume accountability for plant practices required.

· Results driven leadership, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive. environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.

· Ability to build, coach and motivate personnel, while holding employees accountable for result.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Basic mechanical aptitude required. Position requires hands-on capability to operate all machinery and equipment. Training will be provided.

· Ability to demonstrate leadership skills such as planning, organizing, staffing, leading, controlling & communicating.

· Continuous improvement oriented.

  • Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.

· Experience with RedZone preferred.

· Experience with SAP ERP a plus.

· Experience in food manufacturing and/or CPG preferred

· HS Diploma required/ Bachelor’s Degree preferred
