Job Title: Production Assembly Specialist

Summary of Position:

This position will work on a specified assembly line, upon completion of basic assembly training and attainment of certifications as described by the company. Must demonstrate familiarity with both hand and power tools and must be comfortable working across multiple stations as directed by leadership within a specific shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all safety (safety rules, training, behavioral-based safety observations) and environmental requirements
  • Perform tasks to build complete motorcycles and/or sub-assemblies
  • Ability to perform all tasks of the assembly process with no assistance
  • Ability to effectively perform rework operations independently
  • Use blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications
  • Use precision measuring devices to effectively assemble and/or disassemble final product
  • Ability to effectively interpret blueprints
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required
  • Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary
  • Follow established quality procedures for the company and department including company procedures for handling parts, tools, and finished goods
  • Perform tasks to build complete motorcycles and/or sub-assemblies
  • Record build information on log sheets and on other documents as well as interfacing with electronic systems
  • Assist with special projects or other departments as required
  • Coordinate with warehouse and shipping staff as required

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma/equivalent or Advanced Automotive Degree
  • Experience assembling motorcycles is a plus
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Twenty-four (24) months employment within a specific production line internally along with process step skills certifications, or five plus (5+) years employment in a manufacturing or similar process-oriented environment

Skills and Attributes

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and work effectively with other team members
  • Basic computer knowledge and/or experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications
  • Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience assembling or repairing motorcycles highly desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding of terms such as Kaizen, Cycle Times, Takt Time and overall improvement of efficiency and quality through these processes
  • Effective decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
  • Proven record of good attendance
  • Must possess ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and reliable

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  • Must be able to move around the shop floor and between buildings in a timely manner
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50lbs) from floor to level of thirty inches (30in) high; move around with the object for five feet (5ft) and place it on a tabletop thirty inches (30in) high
  • Must be able to stand and move about for four (4) consecutive hours

Other Requirements

  • Must pass background check
  • Must be willing and able to perform overtime up to twenty percent (20%) of normal work time including weekends and holidays as required
  • M1 motorcycle license desirable but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $25.00 per hour
