Job Description:
The Orascoptic Product Manager will manage the entire product life cycle of our loupes and headlights from strategic planning through end-of-life activities. This position will also work closely with commercial teams and international partners to equip them with the knowledge to skillfully sell our portfolio of products, R&D to deliver innovative products to market. The Product Manager will report to the Senior Global Marketing Leader with a dotted line to the Director of Innovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Orascoptic product lifecycle of custom loupes and headlights from concept through end-of-life.
Develop a deep understanding of our customer’s reality through VOC research and going to ‘gemba’ in order to specify product requirements for current and future products
Define specifications and financial forecasts for new products and work closely with R&D through development cycle
Act as a passionate and articulate champion of new product launches to the market, direct sales teams and international channel partners, including through outstanding sales guidance and training
Conduct post-market surveillance on new products
Regularly analyze product sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
Capture, analyze, and present competitor and market data (trends, pricing, segment, news) to provide recommendations and action plan for competitive responses
Define and manage the comprehensive product training that company employees receive during initial onboarding and as part of continuing education
Regularly conduct pricing and margin analysis as well as mix analysis
Support sales and commercial teams through creating and deploying compelling product positioning and expertise on product training, value proposition, competitive positioning to gain market share
Enable Sales teams to win against competitors through deep understanding of competitive landscape, products and creation of fight sheets to sell against the competition
Communicate all changes to product features, availability, or obsolesce plans to internal and external constituencies, including customers (through Marketing/Customer Care), direct sales representative and international distributors.
Work with operations and manufacturing to recommend product improvements/enhancements based on customer demand and market trends
Keep abreast of current and emerging trends in our markets to inform leadership team of opportunities for impact
Continually analyze current product offerings to make strategic adjustments based on gross profit analysis, customer demand, competitive offerings and market trends
Provide accurate and up to date product sales forecasts to the Procurement teams to ensure inventory availability
Serve as the primary resource for product-related information for decision support and for educating various parties on product-related issues
Manage product pricing and distribution of price lists to sales and customer service teams
Manage demo stock of products for sales reps and commercial teams
Location:
This role is located at Orascoptic’s headquarters and global custom manufacturing center in Madison, Wisconsin.
You will be required to be in the office at least 3 times per week ; possibly more based on project timelines and business needs
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years commercial experience; ideally with direct exposure in sales, marketing or similar
- 3+ years product management experience; including pricing and forecasting
- Ability to travel up to 15% domestically
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in medical device, dental, vision or similar field a plus
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Ability to collaborate and maintain strong relationships within marketing, sales, regulatory, quality, manufacturing/operations and external business partners and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency using Excel and product/market data to develop and articulate viewpoints
- Ability to deliver inspiring presentations to customer gathering and sales meetings
- Eagerness to go into the market to build perspective, traveling to engage directly and regularly with customers, sales representatives, distributors, and dental/medical opinion leaders
- Comfortable learning technical aspects of Orascoptic’s products and custom-loupe measuring system
- Ability to identify, articulate and countermeasure commercial obstacles to growth
- Commercial instincts and ability to achieve both customer experience and revenue objectives
- Meticulously organized and detail-oriented

Target Market Salary Range:
Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
