Product Engineering Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hypergolic Thruster Product Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an engineering team to support development of Frontier’s Hypergolic Thruster Products by establishing an effective technical product roadmap and maintaining critical engineering resources to execute the roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Develop technical product roadmap
- Appropriately allocate staff and resources to support program execution across product lines
- Assist in finding technical solutions during all phases of development
- Implement standardized processes for major design review gates
- Lead product engineering staff meetings
- Manage product engineering department overhead budget
- Interface with Integrated Product Team to ensure clear communication with program
Relevant Experience and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, 5 years preferred
- Strong technical background in multiple facets of propulsion test (test stand build, operation, procedure development, site safety, etc.)
- Strong technical background in liquid-propellant thruster concepts, fluids, and thermodynamics
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and to deal with conflict
- Experience with failure investigations and corrective actions
- Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements and drawings
- High level of organization and attention to detail
Travel Requirements:
- Local interoffice travel expected (25 miles one-way) required initially during setup of new facility (in Newbury Park, CA) and shutdown of old facility (in Simi Valley, CA)
- Occasional local and domestic travel as needed
Employment Criteria:
This position includes access or potential access to ITAR technical data. Therefore, candidates will need to qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

Pay: Salary $139,000 to $166,000 DOE
