Summary

This role will be reporting directly to the Production Manager and is responsible for building, training, and improving a team that puts safety first, develop a team that will meet or exceed customer and company goals, at the lowest cost possible by minimizing waste and increasing recoveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support EHS&S initiatives to ensure no injury to self or others
  • Support the Production Manager in day-to-day operations of the factory
  • Support Shift Manager and Packaging Supervisors with training/guidance to successfully achieve expectations
  • Work with Shift Managers and Process Team Leads to effectively create/maintain a safe working environment in all areas of the facility and direct supervision to the plant’s production employees
  • Create and or improve existing Processing Troubleshooting Guide for the entire Moses Lake Production Team
  • Carry out Production Managers responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Follow production planning to prepare equipment, ingredients, and raw materials for daily operations (French Fries and formed products)
  • Control the processing lines and suggest adjustment as needed, from raw material to finished packaged product, to assure quality and guarantee customer and consumer satisfaction
  • Fill in for Shift Manager position in times of their absence, day or night shift as required by Production Manager
  • Knowledge and ability to operate various types of processing and packaging equipment (peeler, PEF, sorter, blancher, dryer, fryer, freezer tunnel and baggers)
  • Work Order/Maintenance Coordination
  • Work with maintenance supervisors to help prioritize weekly schedule and utilize operational downtime to resolve mechanical/electrical issues
  • Work with Instrumentation Supervisor to manage SST and their responsibilities
  • MMS Auditing

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

5+ years Shift Manager/Superintendent role preferred
3+ years Food processing experience and training preferred

Required Certifications

Green Belt in Six Sigma within 1st year.

  • Demonstrated cross-functional communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience creating and delivering effective presentations
  • Strong organizational and analytical
  • Understanding of Company policies and federal regulations concerning sanitation, safety, security, and labor agreements
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary
  • Understanding of food manufacturing is desirable.
  • Abilities: requires highly developed observation and troubleshooting skills related to all process and supporting equipment and systems


Compensation: $75k - $85k annually plus annual incentive plan eligibility.
