JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE
Prevention Coordinator
Full-Time position: 32-40 hours/week
Hourly Rate: $17.00/hour
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree Preferred; Vocational Certification or High School Diploma with equivalent job related experience considered.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with agencies, businesses, and citizens to work collaboratively to support the growth and operations of prevention efforts in Brooke and Hancock counties and to implement the statement of work for various substance prevention grants. They will oversee prevention programing at the Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network and the BHFRN Executive Director will give overall supervision.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Planning and coordination experience
- Data tracking and statistical analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel (including use of formulas, charts and graphs), PowerPoint
- Ability to work cooperatively with community family service agencies, consumers and staff
- Strong computer, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, public speaking
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
- Must have valid motor vehicle operator’s license and insurance
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to plan and facilitate meetings and trainings, identify community needs, work with community leaders and volunteers of diverse backgrounds.
- Digitally record and take notes at coalition meetings. Transcribe into meeting minutes.
- Prepare any documents and materials for meetings.
- Send out meeting reminders, documents for approval, and other information to coalition members through email, text alerts, social media posts, etc.
- Locate and book meeting spaces outside of the BHFRN for special meetings and activities.
- Maintain accurate filing system, both paper and digital, for grant records.
- Research data and information needed for coalition activities. Take gathered information to create handouts for coalition members.
- Attend various trainings and meetings for both the BHFRN and partner agencies. This includes some out-of-state travel.
- Maintain coalition social media accounts.
- Engage the community through phone calls to gather information, resources, or for recruitment.
- Maintain accurate timesheet and travel log for activities associated with work.
- Deliver and pick-up information, materials, or other needed work related supplies.
- Keep personal agenda and Google calendar up-to-date with appointments, meetings, and reminders.
- Sign and promote the agency’s drug free workplace policy.
- Represent the Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network and the ASAP Coalition at area community functions on substance abuse prevention issues.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the BHFRN Executive Director.
