Our goal is to share an environment of academic excellence through active, hands-on learning opportunities for students 2 years old and beyond. Risen Savior Academy has existed as a preschool for three years now and will be expanding to include kindergarten in the fall of 2023 and growing to 8th grade. RSA is seeking individuals interested in working alongside others who have similar values and beliefs and are willing to share those with our students.

Position Information/Benefits

Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., with possible extra hours to help with the lunch extension program (children are in session 9:00-12:00, or until 1:30 with lunch extension. Lunch extension staff is on campus until 2:00 p.m.). August 2023 – May 2024.

Pay scale: $20 per hour

Paid Time Off: All holidays and holiday breaks during the school year, as set by RSA, will be considered paid time off.

Training & Continuing Education: Pediatric CPR, First Aide, and annual training required by DCF will be provided to all employees. After one year of employment at RSA, reimbursement will be given for additional Director-approved Early Childhood courses, up to $100 per school year.

Staff Discounts: One dependent child of a Risen Savior Academy employee may attend RSA tuition-free. An additional employee dependent may attend at 50% off the full tuition rate. 20% staff discount on tuition for elementary.

Other: RSA will reimburse for CPR/1st Aid training and fingerprinting costs.

Our school calendar will follow closely to the Manatee County School calendar.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education-related field, Early Childhood coursework, training, or experience preferred

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Must be able to lift, carry and tend to children ages 2 -4 years of age & 40 pounds.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in preschool education (as shown by a positive reference from a former employer/supervisor in the preschool education field)
• Must have an active Staff Credential.
• Ability to complete all Florida DCF requirements (background check, fingerprinting … etc.
• Must have 45 hours of Department of Children and Families training completed.
• Physically capable of lifting, balancing, walking, standing, stooping and sitting on the floor in order to interact with children.· Communicates effectively, excellent interpersonal skills
• Builds strong relationships with students, parents, and families
• Collaborates with colleagues as a valuable member of the faculty team
• Demonstrates an energetic, positive attitude towards students and work
• Reliable, punctual, and motivated to complete tasks with excellent results
• Works independently, self-motivated to take initiative

Duties

• Support Risen Savior’s mission and philosophy
• Present a positive image of the school to the community.
• Model positive Christian behavior to a safe and secure learning environment.
• Participate in daily devotions.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings.
• Attend and participate in on-going in-service staff development and training meetings.
• Must establish general classroom management and routines.
• Implement the daily program.
• Greet students and parent(s) in the morning “by name” as they arrive and say good-bye at the end of the day, again using the first name of the student and parent(s).
• Carry out monthly fire drills.
• Must create and implement age appropriate lesson plans and activities that encourage spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, social needs and growth of students for the classroom.
• Carry out emergency drills (i.e. Tornado, Lock Down, Hurricane … etc).
• Lesson Plans must be posted so that parents can view them / licensing standards.
• Prepare a classroom newsletter, highlight activities, special events, show students in action through pictures/video/media.
• Must conduct assessments and observations and maintain records, anecdoctal notes on all students.
• Meet with parents to discuss child(ren)’s growth and development using approved progress report forms.
• Maintain open communications with parents, guardians at all times.
• Must be able to maintain a clean environment for the children at all times.
• Direct assistant teachers as to their tasks while students are present.
• Direct assistant teachers as to their tasks before and after school planning time.
