Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Plant Controller to provide financial leadership at the local warehouse level ensuring daily operations are in compliance with company policies and accounting records are maintained in conformity with US GAAP. This is a 100% On-Site role in Ft. Mill, South Carolina performing the following:
Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all inventory-related journal entries at month end. Complete month-end and year-end reporting process to reconcile cost and gross margin against financial statements.
  • Develop and analyze cost variances on a monthly basis.
  • Direct and coordinate annual budget activities. Work with department managers to develop short- and long-term financial goals; use GP and other reporting tools available to measure the performance.
  • Implement systems and controls utilizing Great Plains to improve the financial performance of the Plant
  • Prepare and analyze manufacturing reports for cost center reporting, benchmark metrics, purchase price variance for materials, process order variances, work in process, inventory levels and turns, shipping costs, returns, obsolete inventory, capital assets, etc; make recommendations for corrective actions
  • Develop and update meaningful KPI with the Operations team.
  • Track plant spending of expenses and investments against the budget, advise management, and recommend appropriate corrective action
  • Improve inventory accuracy by managing inventory control systems including cycle counts & physical inventories; maintain records to document and explain variances
  • Liaison with department managers to improve financial performance and gain efficiencies

Qualifications & Requirements: *

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of related cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or textiles business
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction
  • Actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement
