As a Homecare Physical Therapist Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with clients one on one in their home environment focusing on functional mobility, fall prevention, and home safety. You will carry out care plans developed by your colleagues that will enhance clients’ quality of life in their own home. Duties Highlights for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

  • Interprets philosophy and corporate objectives related to home care to clients and their families, referral sources and community groups
  • Implements physical therapy services as developed by the registered physical therapist to include, but not be limited to:
  • therapeutic exercise
  • gait
  • transfer and mobility instruction
  • massage/manual therapy
  • patient/care giver education
  • transfers
  • stair mobility
  • safe Entrance/exit of home
  • Timely recording and reports of patient’s responses to the therapy regime to the lead physical therapist, the physician, and/or the home care clinical supervisor
  • Maintains appropriate clinical records in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team to provide all services determined necessary
  • Instructs clients and family members regarding restoration of physical function and skills essential for independent living
  • Maintain professional competence by participating in continuing education programs
  • Maintains a productivity average 4-5 yearly, consisting of 5-6 visits a day including completion of all necessary and accompanying documentation within 24 hours
  • Arrive on time for meetings/education including case conference
  • Practice physical therapy within the scope of license set by the NH Office of Allied Health Professionals
  • Engages in respectful communication (both verbal and written) with team members, patients, family members, and the community
  • Adheres to agency wide policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

  • Proof of up to date Covid-19 vaccination card to present at Orientation or engage in the exemption process prior to hire.
  • Per the CDC, "A person is up to date with their Covid-19 vaccination if they have received all recommended doses in the primary series and one booster when eligible."
  • NH PTA License
  • Strong computer and typing skill recommended
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Auto Insurance
  • Home Care experience beneficial, although we will train the right individual
  • New PTA graduates are welcome
