The Pharmacy Program Specialist is responsible for providing project management support of Pharmacy Services trend management initiatives. In addition, this position requires working collaboratively with internal and external organizations (e.g. pharmacy vendor, other vendors, providers and accounts) to ensure program objectives are met. The Pharmacy Program Specialist will lead and/or facilitate various workgroups and act as the key Pharmacy liaison for Audit, Fraud/Waste/Abuse (FWA) and other pharmacy program tracking.
Project leadership on strategic pharmacy initiatives.
Lead/participate in special assignments/ projects and lend support to other teams and internal customers.
Develop improvement initiatives to aid internal customers understanding of our pharmacy benefits and operations
Ability to influence and negotiate with vendors, internal groups and peers
Ability to prioritize multiple issues that cross operational and corporate wide boundaries
Work closely with and develop strong relationships with internal partners and customers such as pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy, actuarial, underwriting, contracts development, finance, legal, benefit services, marketing, member and provider service, sales, and medical management to ensure that mutual needs are met.

Identify and manage project dependencies and schedule and track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Identify problems or obstacles to achievement of project deliverables, mediate issues, develop solutions, and implement mitigation and action plans
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
Key Qualifications
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communications through organizing and leading meetings and work teams, analysis and report generation, correspondence, and preparing presentations for leadership.
Proven project management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Collaborative by nature and a problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment
A self-motivator who can gather, interpret, and distribute information quickly and clearly both verbally and in writing
Develop and maintain effective working relationships and provide high quality service with key internal customers
Ability to differentiate between important and urgent deliverables, requests and issues
Ability to engender trust and confidence, high sense of integrity and ethics.
Detail oriented with the ability to resolve complex problems and issues independently
Required Education Level and/or Relevant Experience Level
Bachelor’s Degree in business or health related industry or 2+ years relevant industry experience preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years in the managed care and/or pharmacy arena
Minimum 3- 5 years project management experience
Experience in management of business functions and/or project management
Computer and software skills, MS outlook, MS word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint, MS access, OLB, Sharepoint a plus.
Minimum Education Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent required unless otherwise noted above
