Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant Job at Metro EHS Pediatric Therapy
MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy is looking to bring on a pediatric physical therapy assistant (PTA), who would work alongside physical therapists treating physically impaired children. As a pediatric physical therapy assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your responsibilities include working with patients on specific types of functional training to improve their coordination and balance, modifying toys and equipment to increase independence, documenting the progress of the patients, and discussing the current treatment options and long-term goals with the patient’s parents or guardians. Some administrative duties will also be expected of this role until the case load has been fully established.
Pediatric physical therapy assistants (PTAs) are on their feet for most of their shift and may also be required to move heavy equipment. Maintaining the upkeep of linens and supplies in the treatment rooms is also a responsibility of this role. The job duties of a PTA requires bending and lifting, in addition to assisting the Clinic Administrator, as warranted.
Qualifications:
- Two-year PTA associate degree program
- PTA licensure issued by the state of Michigan
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm
Pay Rate
- $22-$27/hour dependent on experience
