SUMMARY OF DUTIES

This position performs complex payroll functions such as processing international payrolls and overseeing payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

  • Process and transmit international payrolls and year-end tax forms.
  • Completes complex payroll calculations to resolve employee pay issues or discrepancies.
  • Interprets pay policies such as vacation, disability, workers compensation, etc., and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to various accounts correctly.
  • Verifies compliance with federal, state, and/or international payroll regulations.
  • Oversees multifaceted payroll processing to ensure payrolls are paid accurately and timely.
  • Ensures all steps are completed before transmitting payroll records.
  • Manages workflow as prescribed to maximize efficiency.
  • Creates, enters, and posts journal entries.
  • Performs account reconciliations and resolves outstanding issues.
  • Resolves questions and problems with employees regarding payroll issues.
  • Performs complicated payroll analytical reviews.
  • Documents payroll processes and procedures.
  • Assists in training of other staff.
  • Generates various payroll reports.
  • Generates time card reports.
  • Performs data entry.
  • Files timecard, payroll and other information.
  • May assist with general ledger account reconciliation.
  • May assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation.
  • May assist with third party payroll system implementation and upgrades.
  • May perform payroll related functions such as entering/maintaining employee garnishment records, preparing appropriate computer data files, and transferring 401(k) and loan withholding to the plan provider.
  • Performs other related payroll, administrative and clerical duties, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma and seven years of payroll processing experience.
  • A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
  • Excellent organization, accuracy and attention to detail in performing tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision to complete assignments.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information professionally, with integrity, and with discretion.
  • Ability to follow instructions, accept constructive feedback, and convert this information into a productive and positive outcome.
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ADP GlobalView/Kronos/SAP experience.
  • Spanish language skills.
