Patient Access Supervisor Job at Stamford Hospital
Stamford Health is seeking a motivational, driven, leader to join our Patient Registration team as a Patient Access Supervisor. This role oversees the daily operational activities of the Patient Registration Department functions throughout the Hospital. In the absence of department manager, assumes full responsibility for all shift operations. Assists the PBS Admitting Manager with implementing department objectives and new programs. Performs the day to day technical admitting functions of the department. Ensures all registrations are accurate and meet organization and HIPPA admitting and registration standards.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership, guidance and training to staff.
- Assigns responsibilities and monitors daily workflow of the department and staff scheduling.
- May exercise independent judgment and decision making based on Hospital wide needs.
- Maintains all required records for the department. Prepares special reports for PABS Admitting Manager.
- Ensure cost containment within Department as it relates to the Departments budget.
- Monitors the quality, productivity and cash collections for staff. Makes recommendations to Admitting Manager for change and identifies and works toward solutions ensuring admitting standards and goals are met.
**Full-time, Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm, with rotating on-call responsibilities**
Required Skills
Required Experience

Associate/Bachelors’ degree required.
3-5 years of experience in Patient registration in a healthcare facility.
Knowledge of medical terminology and exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
