We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Pathologist Assistant (PA), to work under the direct supervision of an attending pathologist, to
- Dissect and process resected tissue and biopsy specimens (simple or complex).
- Dictate gross descriptions
- Select representative diagnostic tissue for histologic processing
- Assist attending pathologists with intra-operative consultations, including gross dissection and frozen section preparation
- Take tissue samples as appropriate for special clinical studies, including flowcytometry, cytogenetics, electron microscopy etc.
- For autopsies, will assist in the preparation and performance of human postmortem exam and dissection and submission of samples
We require:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or graduate of an ASCP accredited Training Program for a Pathologists Assistant.
- NYS licensed as a Pathology Assistant.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all tissue pathology and grossing procedures.
Salary Range: $105,000 /yr to $125,000 /yr
