The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available at Camp Floyd State Park in Fairfield, Utah. This appointment will last from approximately April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023, with the possibility of an extension. Housing is not provided.

Retail operations

Each Park Ranger Aide will assist park staff in the educational programs, park maintenance, and daily operations of the park. The employee will be required to assist or provide interpretive programs for the visitors of Camp Floyd State Park. Each Park Ranger Aide will also assist with the buildings and grounds maintenance operations, school groups, interpretation programs, retail sales, and visitor interaction at Camp Floyd State Park. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Skills
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Utah Driver’s license at the time of employment. Applicant should have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; be able to follow both oral and written instructions; willing to perform janitorial, general building maintenance, and groundskeeping, using basic hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and small motorized tools such as weed eater and blowers, etc. Preference may be given to applicants with park-related experience and education in a history-related field.

Other
Applicants must be willing to work in an outdoor setting and on weekends and holidays. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a criminal history background check upon hire. Work requires physical exertion; may require standing, walking over rough surfaces; bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, and lifting objects up to 50lbs. in a recurring manner or for a long period of time.
