Purpose
The Outreach Program Coordinator for Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of an annual strategic plan for corporate and foundation partnerships for the McCombs School of Business that includes maximizing programs and support to students, faculty, research, centers and priority initiatives. The Outreach Program Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and supports the development and implementation of an annual strategic plan for CFR partnerships primarily through management of programs and funding initiatives.
Responsibilities
Internal Program and Special Projects Management
- Collect, organize and maintain team’s library of information on corporate funding initiatives and internal programs and update on an ongoing basis. Ensure that all data is updated in SalesForce, VIP and CFR materials for proposals.
- Collect market and competitive information to assist in development of funding strategies and proposals.
- Support team initiatives including special projects and priority projects such as reviving and re-conceptualizing programs, stewardship efforts, conferences.
- Manage and expand company gift matching campaigns.
- Collaborate with cross-campus partners on projects and initiatives as needed.
- Manage naming request process, writing and documents
Administration and Research
- Document corporate interaction and gifts in all tracking systems including VIP customer relationship software system and SalesForce for sharing of information at the McCombs School and throughout UT.
- Connect with cross-campus colleagues to share information and work on any relevant joint projects.
- Research philanthropic interests and capacity of corporations, private foundations and organizations and maintain a schedule of potential opportunities, deadlines, and projected submissions.
- Support the preparation of compelling and persuasive proposals, with associated budgets, to corporations, foundations, and other organizations in collaboration with the Director. This may include serving as lead author, refining messaging, providing substantive editorial support, proofreading, and/or providing baseline review comments.
- Prepare agendas and supporting materials for strategic meetings with foundations and corporations.
- Support hosting corporate and foundation visits on campus.
Stewardship
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive system of donor acknowledgment and stewardship reporting, including establishment and maintenance of reporting protocols and processes.
- Research, organize and prepare McCombs Corporate Engagement Reports and snap shots as needed for corporate partner stewardship and meetings.
- Collaborate with McCombs and UT Donor Relations teams to present united stewardship program for CFR.
- Collaborate in the development of gift acknowledgment and procedures that maximize personalization and efficiency.
Marketing and Communications
- Serve as CFR team lead on CMCR communications team.
- Develop and write proposals sections as assigned.
- Support development and implementation of tactical marketing initiatives.
Support Development Team Efforts
- Support the team management of portfolios of companies with the goal of strengthening and growing relationships as well as facilitating companies' involvement opportunities including cultivation, campus visits, classroom speaking engagements, special events, donor recognition, and fund raising events.
- Support special funding opportunities with company outreach as needed.
- Interface with all internal stakeholders (faculty, program offices, centers, career services and alumni relations) to determine and be well-versed on corporate sponsorship initiatives in order to help team make connections between partners goals and program needs.
- Serve as a global resource by maintaining a broad knowledge base of school programs, events and centers to accurately advocate on the school’s behalf as well as attend internal events to learn more about school programs.
- Support SalesForce ongoing efforts and evolutions.
- Support data analytics efforts and reporting in CFR.
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned in support of Corporate and Foundation Relations as required.
- This position may be required to work evening and weekend hours.
- Attend events as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required with three years of experience in development, business development, account management, corporate relationship management, corporate recruiting, university relations, or sales or comparable experience requiring similar skill set.
- Self-starter who can balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, and diplomacy both individually and in collaboration with multiple constituencies.
- Relate well to coworkers, peers and superiors of the University, as well as to donors and prospective donors.
- Strong customer service ethic and experience overseeing successful stewardship events and activities.
- Professional business acumen with a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to synthesize complex material with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to meet time deadlines and employ strategic insight in project and client outreach.
- Flexibility to travel and work varying hours, as required by the job.
- Must be comfortable working in a highly computerized environment including database management, Internet research, PowerPoint, Excel, e-mail, and other tools.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated database management skills, preferably with customer relationship management software.
- Experience creating, monitoring, and reporting on metrics for success of outreach efforts.
- Experience with solicitation and stewardship of corporate and foundation donors.
- Experience working with mid-level and senior executives, senior administration, students and faculty.
- Experience in working with complex information.
- Experience in higher education and/or industry
Salary Range
$50,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
- Standard office environment.
- This is an Austin, TX-based position and is eligible for hybrid work.
