This is a Non-Exempt position responsible for peer support to help families navigate through
the child welfare system and other referrals systems by designing and outreaching
community resources to promote healthy and safe families within the child welfare program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Have earned a minimum education level of GED.
B. Experience:
Have had life experience with the child welfare system either as a parent or child or
have valuable ability to demonstrate the implication of addition on the family system
and to the safety of children. If the individual has a past case with Child Protective
Services then it needs to be a closed case for a minimum of one year.
Demonstrate long term recovery from a Substance Use Disorder
Demonstrate no ongoing criminal activity
C. Other Requirements:
Current valid Driver's License;
Must have a good driving record in compliance with agencies insurance policy if
driving company vehicle or using mileage;
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Must have the initiative to work with families and agencies to assist families in
developing healthy life skills for the entire family enabling all to become selfsufficient.
