Position Summary

Our Urbana team receives all customer returns of our countertop oven product, which are stored and organized to support defect diagnosis, R&D, and donations. Our Office/Warehouse Associate would be responsible for keeping the thousands of ovens well organized, both physically and in the online inventory tool. They would also perform office admin support tasks such as grocery ordering and mail sorting. We operate out of the R&D and Prototyping dream shop at The Product Manufactory. We have fun and support one another.

How you'll spend your time at Tovala

• Receive ovens from freight or parcel delivery trucks
• Look up the information on received ovens and transfer them in the correct warehouse location, digitally and physically on the day it was received
• Check and maintain accuracy of the digital inventory database. This includes updating oven info such as status, return reason, return date, etc and in autonomy solve any discrepancies
• Perform monthly and annual inventory counts
• Break down the ovens into the cardboard box, other packaging, power cord, and oven itself to prepare each type of material for recycling
• Optimize and maintain pallet configuration and warehouse space to maximize storage and efficiency
• Ship out individual ovens or pallets of ovens as needed, from selecting ovens to creating shipping labels and organizing pick up
• Check basic oven functionality before shipping them out for employees or donations
• Given lists of ovens or oven characteristics, find and set up these ovens for the upcoming tests
• Disassemble specific ovens and collect requested photos
• Support R&D and fabrication work by weighing food samples, stripping wires, setting up experiments, etc.
• Perform light clerical work such as printing inventory labels and ordering supplies and food for the shop and kitchen

About you

• Strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with spreadsheet tools like Microsoft excel or Google Sheets
• Able to communicate by email
• Experience with basic hand tools; additional handiwork skills are a plus

• Valid driver’s license
• Able to drive a rental box truck; No CDL required
• Able to use a pallet jackAble to lift and move 24lbs boxes routinely

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
